Headed to the city much later this month or early next month,

will need to stay a couple of nights but the hotel prices are way outside of the budget, anyone recommend a nice b&b on a bus route or walk to the city that's not ruinously expensive?

I haven't stay at either of these but they used to be busy with sales reps, business reps, tradesmen, etc pre covid so I assume they're good places to stay.

Brookeville House B&B near what was LIT.

Twin Oaks Guest House (Dublin Rd, near Frank Hogan's car sales)

Twin Oaks Guest House is no longer available. It is some class of HSE/Welfare split housing now.

You could try Airbnb as well.

The old quarter hotel is always a good one to look into (it is over a pub and in the city centre if you have kids may not be suitable) but normally works out about €90 a night for 2 people.

also brookville would be the one I hear most about.
