Installing an immersion timer

Can anyone tell me how easy/hard it would be for a layman (me) to install an electrical timer to replace the immersion switches we have (see the image below - on off and what i think is a booster on the left)? Given how expensive electricity is, i don't want to have to turn the water on all night, and a timer would save us a good chunk of change.

Happy to get in an electrician if needed, but ideally i'd not spend that extra money.
