Those of you around here long enough would remember that previous boards member Snowbie set up Ireland Weather Network several years ago .

It included a forum and a Irish "Mesomap" where people with an interest in Meteorology and had their own online weather station could automatically share their data and site links which was displayed on the map, in a manner similar to https://wow.met.ie/ .

The mesomap is part of a wider worldwide weather enthusiast amateur weather network.

Sadly Snowbie moved on to other things and that is all history now.

However thankfully now "thecivvie" has taken the time to make a new Ireland Weather Network which you can find at http://irelandweather.eu/

It would be great if we could get all the counties represented again.

The join up page is at - http://irelandweather.eu/Join.php

Its very straight forward and most personal weather station software's are supported.

If you run WeeWx on your station like myself, you'll need to install this extension - https://github.com/matthewwall/weewx-crt and then choose Cumulus as your station type on the drop down. If you need any help with that just reply to this post and I'm sure we can figure it out!

The realtime.txt this generates can also be used by the weather banner plugin if interested to make banners like the one below which utilise it:

So why not have a look and consider joining the new Ireland Weather Network.

Feel free to comment or add questions in reply to this post. Anything Ireland Weather Network related - this is the place!

Lets put Irish weather back on the global mesomap!

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/
