Waiting times for driving test Dublin

    Hi all,

    I am wondering if anyone could tell me what the current waiting period to be invited to book the driving test is at the moment? I know it gives a rough estimate on the RSA website, but you cannot get an accurate date without a drivers number. I don't have a drivers number because I am wondering on behalf of someone else and don't have access to their drivers number. They applied back in the beginning of June and have not heard anything yet. Does this sound about right as we approach August?

    I did my driving test back in 2017, applied in May and only got a date in August. I am not sure if the wait in 2022 is similar to the wait back in 2017.

    You don’t need a driver number to check the wait times, when you go into the estimator, it asks if you want to check your estimated invitation date, or check dates by test centre, you can check the rough estimate for every test centre.


    edit: I see you know that, the beginning of June is not a long wait in current conditions, as there is a large backlog all over the country. It could be well into the winter before they get the invite.
