Very hard to beat a King Koil mattress, expensive yes, but you get what you pay for. I can't say it was the greatest purchase of my life though.....

Medium soft mattresses are good for average body types but if you have average to heavy body builds then you should try a firm mattress. I am not in favour of soft, spring and very firm mattresses. By the way, in this era of climate change better to go with the gel or latex mattress option.

I don't know whereabouts you live OP but if you live within a reasonable drive of John Pye Auctions in Northern Ireland then keep an eye on their stock for a quality mattress.

They sell insolvency, clearance, and returns for a fraction of the retail price.

My mattress was a return from John Lewis stores here in the uk and it was retailing at about 3 thousand pounds. It's sprung and stuffed with silk and cashmere and it's the comfiest, most restful thing I've ever slept on. Not a cat in hells chance could I ever have afforded something so high end luxurious but it cost me 110 quid in the auction.

I have arthritis in the spine, shoulders etc and bought a new one last year (after seeing how comfortable they are in a hotel we stayed in) an Ultimate Flotation mattress from The Natural Sleep Company who manufacture in Co Limerick. Think it cost 800ish for a King size and it's by far the best mattress I've ever had.

Emma mattresses have a take away service 45quid. Sadly the cost of living crisis is hell for Matresses , 100 here to rent a van for 3 hours
