Hi, building a built in wardrobe and was looking at the mr mdf carcass beign attached to the wall. The wall is the inside of an external facing wall of the house, which itself is a period house.

Would mr MDF that has been primed be enough to prevent moisture from damaging it? any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

just installed MDF skirting that I primed myself with an oil based undercoat on advice from the carpenter who is installing them..all in an effort to prevent moisture so I reckon you're spot on.

Just bear in mind that any colder surface than the ambient will be a destination for moisture and the build-up of mold if humidity is uncontrolled. Hence the normal response to these type of question is "reduce the humidity by ventilating".

Super thanks.. I use a dehumidifier cum air filter all winter anyway... Time will tell but it's all looking good so far!
