I was considering getting braces and friend who is a dentist told me I'd have to get images in x-rays and normal light taken simultaneously so that the orthodontist would adjust them digitally on a computer. Does anyone know the specific name for this?

Pre-treatment X-rays and photographs, or, he/she could have been referring to the scans taken for Invisalign, which are then used to design a series of aligners.
