Finish question

Hi, I'm building a wall hung unit for my bathroom to hold a surface sink, using 20nmm Walnut. I normally use hard wax oil (osmo) for solid wood stuff, I doubt it is the best option for this-even with an extractor the room gets a lot of moisture. What would be a good finish to use to protect it? Would several coats of Polyurethane work, if so is the stuff in spray cans OK or is it better applied with a brush? I went with 4mm hardened frosted glass for the two doors, so not too concerned about wood movement there, more so the top surface on which the sink sits on.

    TIA.
