    Volvo V60 D6 PHEV.

Skip to about 17 seconds for the noise in question. And ignore the state of the driveway...it's been cleaned since!

My mondeo made a similar sound when the engine was switched off, it was a vacuum solenoid for the turbo waste gate actuator. Since Ford own Volvo there could be identical parts used so maybe check for that.

With your car being a hybrid it could also just be some sort of electric sound that EVs make which I'm unaware of.

Here's what the Mondeo one sounds like for comparison.

    Sounds kinda like that alright.

Only seems to be there when I press the brake though.

I was told when I bought the car that it was the vacuum pump. Got that swapped out by the main dealer, but the noise remained. The odds of 2no. vacuum pumps being faulty is fairly small. Then this evening I swapped the little valve that sits outside the pump, in the hopes it was that. But it made no difference.

So I'm wondering could it be something other than the vacuum pump, 'cause I'm at a loss as to what it could be.
