Many branches in Galway to go Cashless from 21/10/2022

Some AIB branches are going cashless on October.

• Athenry
• Ballinasloe
• Clifden
• Oranmore
• An Spidéal
• Salthill 

As per subject line, AIB branches in An Spidéal and Salthill to go Cashless from 21/10/2022.

So if you west of the Corrib, a Post office or Westport if you need to lodge Cash unless you want to come into the City.

All ATMs are being removed.

ATMs are being taken out. Even if they weren't the bags of coins we need a couple of times a week wouldn't fit out the slot. We give cash back ourselves but might have to stop now or we will run out of the smaller notes as well.

Heard a business owner in Bundoran saying there was a branch next to his pub a few years ago then that closed but there was another bank in the town then that closed so he had to go twice a week to a branch in BallyShannon and now he says with that closing he'll have to drive to Donegal Town. BOI already have a partnership with An Post for providing services but I haven't used it...mostly because our feckin' post office closed when the postmaster retired. It only reopened a few weeks ago so haven't been in yet. Will they sort out the cash needs for businesses?

Wouldn't surprise me to see a "cash surcharge" being added in time to come due to the hassle of dealing with it.

Say if a bank adds a 0.10 charge for using your card, the business could add a 0.20 charge for using cash.

We've also seen the start "no cash" businesses, that'll only grow too

If our local Post Office has to take over the coin exchange it's in an ideal spot for a ram raid.

Depending on the time of year we have between five and nine pubs open in town. Only one is busy enough to afford to use Brinks weekly.
