Wooden Garden Seat

If it's made from treated timber and you treat it annually with some form of wood protector then it should last a very long time. Just make sure it's not sitting on a surface that holds moisture, e.g. lawn. If so the wood will rot from the bottom up in no time.

Any metal fittings, screws, etc in the bench if not galvanised may need to be replaced over time.

It's probably a hard wood timber. Should be good for years if you store it indoors during winter and use an oil based treatment. This helps to keep the wood looking good and protects from UV damage. These types of seats usually fail at any joints in construction first, so protect these and you'll get years n years.

If you're going to put a cushion on it, get a metal one which you can leave outside all year round, and deal with the hassle of taking in and out the cushion.

If you're not going to put a cushion on it, get timber because it's more comfortable to sit on "naked", however you interpret that. 😁
