can anyone recommend a decent place to rebuild/recondition a steering box form an 82 Merc G-Wagen.

preferable in munster are due to weight and shipping.

I assume you have excessive play? Did you try adjusting it first? And eliminate play in other steering components like track rods?

My 123 is very sensitive to low tyre pressure, I have a very very slow leak in one of the fronts and I know to top up when the steering becomes looser!

I don't know of any, but are you in the owners club, if so try the forum there, lots of Irish members. If you don't get an answer soon I'll post the question for you. BTW if not in the club you should really consider it.

No play, i'm in the middle of a nut and bolt rebuild and it;s on the list to get reconditioned.

It will be running a slightly higher pressure power steering pump so need to get everything checked over and replaced as necessary..

there are specialist places in the UK, but thanks to Brexit thats not an option anymore.

yea i'm in several of the G-wagen clubs, don't find them great to be honest, the better ones being in the US and Germany, a lot in them have a sence of entitlement that there knowledge is the only way to do something and they are self proclaimed guru's at what they do. Granted they are older generation who don't like change. but how's ever not much good to me, I tend to only use clubs for cheaper insurance etc..
