Going to the steward of Christendom in the Gate 7.30 pm, I hate being late for anything so would like to be sitting by7.15pm.

So looking for suggestions for an early bird reasonably nearby or if is not nearby or it's the general Grafton street to south William street or temple bar area it would have to be somewhere that opens early enough so we can finish the meal and be over to the Gate by 7.15 pm.

The gate is beside the rotunda, the gaiety is off Grafton street, which one are you going to?

The Gate but trying to figure out if it's possible to get an early bird somewhere nice and still get to the Gate by 7.15pm

I have noticed an awful lot of places don't do early birds/pre theatre anymore.

When it comes to places near the gate I would always recommend Kimchi Hophouse (lovely bibimbap) or M&L (dumpling starters always).

If you aren't into Asian food 101 Talbot still do an early bird 5-630 and seems to be 26 euro, it is solid.

Covid took most early birds and restaurant offers. Flanagan's on O'Connell Street still have one, not very exciting but I've never had a bad meal there either.

The location may not be perfect but the opening time, prices, and food quality are ideal.... PHX Bistro.

The steward of Christendom is brilliant highly recommend it although going to the theater has become expensive Owen Roe is a fantastic actor.

There is a whole hidden history of Dublin that Sabastian Barry's play conveys so well and how by the time he was growing up, it was best not to mention that you had relatives who had been in the Dublin metropolitan police.
