Starting issue on VW CC TDI

    Hi guys, I have an issue with my 152 Vw CC 2.0tdi. When starting it cold it starts first time no problems but if I drive it for awile and then stop for a few mins it sometimes will not restart from hot. The second it starts to turn over the car shakes and it just dies. When it does eventually fire up it starts really rough. One time it took 8 attempts and it finally started. My mechanic scanned it and no codes came up. I left it with him for 2 days and typically it always started for him. We both reckon it could be a bad crank sensor. Just wondering if anyone here has had this problem? Thanks
