I have two new SSD drives to replace aging existing HDD's. I replaced a disk before with an SSD and software was available via a url from the disk manufacturer, that url is now paid software.

Any suggestions to copy as is from existing disk to new SSD, preferably free?

What make of SSD? Google the make along with free cloning software eg crucial free cloning software

Then some USB>SSD adapter manufacturers also have free software eg Sabrent

However the free software doesn't always work. I use a paid for version (nudge nudge) of Aomei Backerupper, but there is also a free version https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/standard.html which works most of the time.

Wake me up when it's all over.

If it was me I'd probably like to do a clean install but Clonezilla or any cloning software should work, no?
