Private Consultant not Available at weekend

Hi Has anyone ever had the scenario where there private consultant is not available at the Weekend and is not on call and an alternative consultant covers the birth and delivery? Is it a normal occurance?

This is completely normal. Out of hours there is a consultant on call. It's the luck of the draw whether it's your consultant or not but either way, you're seeing a consultant rather than a registrar.
