He really has a great range. From excellent comedic chops to Rom-Com to seriously intense. He is very charismatic when you see him being interviewed. He doesn't tend to be the leading man in his dramatic roles but is everywhere: From Star Wars movies to Tom Cruise movies. His American accent sounds a little on the nose: Seems to be doing the whole Hugh Laurie, Benedict Cumberbatch angle of raising the pitch a little and softening their Ts etc. But maybe that's just because we are familiar with them prior (An American friend of mine didn't know Hugh Laurie was English until after House finished).

This looks quite interesting and I hope it does well for both and REALLY kicks Gleeson off

The directing was good on these two episodes. The camera work and sound design combination worked well.

I swear, I could feel something coming during the episode but I thought they'd leave it off for another one.

I'm guessing that's the guy from the restaurant that he's after dragging in. Looks like the urge was greater than the protect-the-mother side of the argument. There again.. restaurant guy isn't dead yet... so maybe the show will be getting darker or the outcome is to see him freed.

Strauss (Steve Carell) seems like he might be getting worked on in the show too. Showing all his mind.. and especially those violent urges.. like.. could he end up a killer. Who knows.

It's all very stop-gap measures to prevent the killing. If the Doc keeps it up.. then maybe but he even looks stretched for ideas. I think this dude could be dead.

5: That was a strong episode. Domhnall Gleeson really has done a lot of work on his intimiation/scary style with Steve Carrell then acting as the counter-balance with so much calm and directness in his voice.

On a side note.. the porn site! Rock climbing porn?!?! 😲 I mean.. ok. 😁

All those lines about his killing his father and the skull and I'm watching there in shock and Carell looking the same kinda shock and then he clarifies about the skull and it's like.. wha? and more shock and Steve Carells face just kinda said it all.

Next episode is the last one so a lot about to happen I think.

Finished! Not a ground breaking overall story but done consistent enough. Good performances from all involved especially Carell and Gleeson.

That was so sad and grim. An ending, yes. Just a painful one and then kind of fading to grey.

For a moment, I was debating to myself about the flash forward being real. Something felt a bit off about it. Too much the faces of everyone singing I think.

Just binge watched this and it flew by. Well worth a look. Domhnall Gleeson is very watchable and a fine actor.

1st 3 episodes in- very enjoyable show. Reels you in right from the start with its simple premise and set-up, and great acting.

I think I'm one of the few that hasn't see this whole 'Domhnall Gleeson is the next big thing' thing, though mainly because of the roles he's chosen, and how annoying I've found him in them. He's excellent in this. I've remarked before how his father has amazing facial expressions, but Domhnall's definitely got it going on here as well, besides his overall really good acting. Steve Carell showing his serious side really well again, just as he did in The Morning Show.

It has the 'this can go anywhere' feel to it, and the bite-sized chunks are perfect for end-of-episode cliff-hangers.

I was really hoping Alan would make it. The ending was sad, although it was probably the most likely outcome. Pity the note-in-mouth-of-corpse idea didn't work out as that was quite clever.

I watched this to episode 7 and was struggling with it. Thought that it was 8 episodes- when I realised it was 10 I thought I couldn’t be bothered to see it out and googled the ending (extremely rarely do I do this!) Glad I decided to give up on it.

Bleak, deeply unpleasant stuff, just didn’t get much from it. Felt zero sympathy for Sam. Zero. Millions of people have daddy issues and don’t turn into serial killers. Alan’s back story was far more interesting, with his estrangement from his son, but still- was just too dark and unrelenting for me, for dark January nights!

Really enjoyed this and I know probably isn't the way to rate something but we do use a lot to decide between shows but 7.2 on IMDb was very low IMO.

Nice short episodes under 25 mins in the main which is rare so were able to binge and fly through it.

Gleeson and Carell both strong performances and his American accent was decent.

Didn't know what way it was going to play out up to the end so another positive.

Not much talk on boards here about it so probably not many seen it. Disney Plus has a nice little catalogue built up now.

On an aside our free 3 months is up end of Feb so if anyone has room on a family plan PM me. Not really sure how this works but I seen people asking to get on this before so must work out cheaper I assume!!

Surely Sam would have to be getting close to being caught at the end of the series: he's killed both his boss (surely work colleagues/subordinates would be interviewed by police in this scenario?) and his therapist. True he attended therapy under a pseudonym but when he left Alan's body to be found for his family along with a note for them talking about how Alan "had really helped him" so any decent investigator is going to look through his patient list and review any CCTV near his office when the false identity he booked his therapy under came up blank...

excellent series , two leads superb and I liked how Steve Carrell came to realise that his son simply made a choice for his life , nothing more, worked on many levels
