I've heard different things when I've asked this question.

How long is the test in total?

What would be the breakdown between theory and actually driving?

    Thanks

It'll depend on the test centre and examiner -- I had my test back in May at the centre in Waterford, as did some of my friends. We all had similar times.

    Intro/Theory - 10mins, Show/Tell - 5mins, Drive - 20mins, Result - 5mins -- so 40mins overall.

Thanks I've just heard so many different things.(From 40 minutes to 65).

It's mainly the drive I'm thinking about.

Well there are a number of things that must be covered on the drive. So it will depend on what the route is like and traffic conditions on the day.

The larger categories (rigids, artics, buses etc.) tend to be longer so perhaps that's where the confusion comes from.

On a category B test, the driving bit is 25-35 minutes. As far as I know, they allocate 1 hour per candidate in category B so the driving part certainly can't be so long that it impedes into the time of the next candidate.
