switching from sky to another provider

hi all cancelled sky the other day gonna be switched off next few weeks number cancelling -as i havent decided on another provider yet what happens when i try to get one do I put in the phone number i have currently with sky and its as easy as that or do i have to get another number installed thanks

You give new provider the details and you keep your number, more info here 'should' only take a few days but I'd give yourself as long as you can to be sure.
