hi folks,just wondering how long it takes for a car to appear on the system after the vrt is paid,mate bought one and from a garage,vrt was paid,new plates,a week ago,he just typed in the new reg on a car parts site,and it does not recognise the new reg yet,thanks

Has he received the VLC yet? If not he will need to tax it for the first time to trigger the release of the VLC and this may then potentially fix it. Just a guess though.

He won't be issued the log book until he taxes the car for the first time. The motortax.ie PIN is usually the last 6 or 7 digits of the car's VIN for newly registered cars.
