I see from the interwebs that the legendary Wicklow Arms has reopened in the past couple of months, with a bistro called the 1856.

Has anyone been yet? I spent many’s an evening of my childhood in the old bar, before it was horribly gutted and renovated around the early 2000s (I think). It’s been pretty derelict for years so it’s great to see that it is coming back to life.

It’s a great spot now. I have only had the bar food but I would highly recommend.

    The bar food is great

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
