Recently bought Neven Maguire Ricer in Dunnes Stores. Trouble is it just squeeses the potato into a hard cake and nothing is exuded. Company suggested I have not cooked potato long enough but I find the longer I cook the worse it gets. ...just a few drops of potato water come out. Anybody have experience iwith this?😒

We have a potato ricer (not Neven Maguire one) but find it works best when you pre-mash the potato a little bit and mix it with a little butter or milk, then spoon it into the ricer and use it that way. I know that's probably not how you're supposed to do it but it's how we get the best results with creamy mash and no lumps.
