Oil Light flickering - an odd problem!

So picked up a 2006 jeep grand cherokee with the Merc OM642 Engine.

So recently the oil light started flickering in cold starts. Stays lit or fickering till the engine is fully warmed up then goes off and stays off until the next cold start.

Oil level is fine with the proper spec oil.

Had a quick chat with the mechanic who usually works on it and he told me to change the oil pressure sensor. Did so and made no difference.Changed the oil filter in case that was blocked. No difference.

Engine doesnt seem to be getting starved of oil as if it was it would have crapped itself by know.

Code getting thrown is : P0524 Engine Oil Pressure Too Low

Anyone come across anything like this before?

It still could be low oil pressure, get an oil pressure test done to be sure.

You need to put a proper oil pressure gauge on it to see what the actual pressure is. Check the wiring from the pressure sensor carefully too in case it's damaged.
