2005 vw transporter issue

Hi just wondering, have a 2005 vw transporter 2.5, automatic dsg, been garaged for 4 years, noticed when driving it, after laying up, it seems to stick in 3rd or 4th gear. If switch off and restart it seems to go through gears properly again. Maybe its from lack of driving and needs driven, or maybe needs gearbox serviced. Only been driving it on and off this past week, issue seems be slightly improving. Any advice appreciated

Wild guess and a bump - is it possible that the gearbox is 'relearning' your driving style?

    Are you a retard

ItZ common with those vans that the gear shift gets sticky at that age

Should be a fifty eutro job to get the linkage cleaned and greased

    It's a dsg.

    What fcuking linkage?

Op, sounds like your mechatronics is going through basic settings. If you can drive on without switching off it may learn its settings.

Or you can get it scaned and if thats the case do an adaption drive.

Either way I'd get it scanned myself, and an oil change wouldn't do amy harm.

Had a mechanic service engine, he seemed to think was running well, said maybe revving too hard and it's not sure what gear to pick, he drove it revving lightly and it selected gears fine. Might get gearbox serviced would do it no harm
