Its not happening this time boardsies. Get your helping hats on you please

Ok, so think I might have missed a trick here before with this when i was applying for driving licence. I skipped ahead to the training and didnt apply so it was too late then

From what I can read of it, they want you to apply first, take and pay for training yourself, complete it (sort of), and then maybe give you the allowance

Now the hard part I have will be proving it will get me employment or proving it to be part of some progression plan. I can prove it's progress but guaranteeing employment IDK. How the @@@@ anyone can guarantee employment in the current climate would be beyond belief

Like I got my driving licence but because of what is going on there is no work. There is no clear employment now and maybe not for a while. But I would still need a car to get to a job anyway right????

I want to upgrade and get trailer licence now in my free time and yes person was working for a trailer licence would be useful.

If this war/price crisis is here to stay I'm not going to sit around and make same mistake as before

What will this come down to has anyone experience of???

    Too hot to handle??

So anyway I ring intreo and they have passed on my info to an activation office and then they will ring me

I'm utterly bewildered by your post have absolutely no idea what your looking for or even asking and therefore can't offer any opinion.

Here's the breakdown for what I'm talking about

It is done through an intreo officer who's head office I rang 2 weeks ago to be put in for a case office. Heard absolutely nowt from them

    Maybe they are bewilidered too

OK, I think I understand, basically your looking to get driving license upgraded which in itself could offer employment opportunities, Courier, Deliveries etc.

However this is the important bit

"The maximum contribution that can be approved and paid for essential driver training is €250. Driving tuition for HGV/Rigid/Bus should be considered as a separate intervention within these guidelines. Driving tuition should only be funded when there is clear evidence of potential employment."

So you essentially have to have evidence of potential employment, which is essentially an offer of employment subject to having appropriate licence.

    Funding is also very limited.

I have the employment basically. But the industry i.e construction is on it's knees right now

No employer in the industry right now can guarantee anything only to wait.

I'm not sacked but there's no work either. The employer would like to see me brushing up on things when this downturn is ongoing.

I have ordinary car licence which I funded solely myself

I just hope I can get a meeting with one of these officers soon and they can leave me exactly where I stand

Thank you Dempo by the way

Would your employer, perhaps draw up a letter, nothing concrete (excuse the pun) offering advancement if you had an appropriate licence, just a thought.

I'm actually not even sure if you are actually employed would you even qu or are you temp laid off and on a Jobseekers payment 🤔

Was only working part-time and keeping DA which allows me work a small amount each week. Supply of work simply is not there so there's even more pressure on me to do extra given that I'm only part time

Car-trailer-construction..........Fairly par for the course in terms of my work like so yeah I'll probably get a spin letter from the employer.

A I see , fair play. I think a letter would certainly help and then follow up with a call or maybe email your local intero centre.

I'm not an expert on wether or not being on DA complicates an application or not I'm not sure but it shouldn't.

Maybe someone on DA Who has more experience etc might come on .

    Good luck regardless 😏

    Thanks Dempo

Yeah that's why I posted to see what the experience was with them.

As I said I'm 2 weeks waiting now and heard nothing

The Intreo officer in my area is the same person responsible for SWA and is CWO hahaha.

She's got a load on so I don't know what the story is elsewhere
