LPG vs Oil burner

    Sorry if repeating this topic. We have just bought a 1980s house and looks like original boiler still in situ - it should be in a museum not heating a house, . Radiators work fine but they are very old. Plumber has come to look at system but he really pushing for us to consider switching to LPG. This means a tank in the garden - he was extolling the virtues of LPG but i have heard mixed reviewed from other people who have gas.

    What is peoples opinion given marked rise in cost of Kerosene. I don't think heat pump a runner - attic insulated, walls pumped. Still loses alot of heat and so would need windows replaced and possible insulation of walls to make heat pump viable heat source.

    oil burner 3.8k vs LPG 5.5k or something like that. Big outlay so want to get it right. Also have backburner on stove so that helps but not may west for the old climate.
