Saw this earlier and it is a lot better than the reviews are giving it credit for. First 40 odd minutes are really engaging, I found myself absorbed completely. However it seems to lose its way after that and it definitely outstays its welcome by 20 - 25 minutes. Daisy Edgar Jones is great, I've never seen Normal people so didn't know much about her but she puts in a really solid performance. All in all its a decent movie.

Concur 100%, I had zero interest in watching this but Mrs Mc Carthy overruled me & watch it I did ......with zero expectations.......it IS a decent movie, Daisy E Jones & all cast put in a solid shift. Maybe a bit long winded but enjoyable ......... NOT talking Oscars but, all in all, worth the price of ticket.

Maybe not having read the book is the key here 😁 I was supposed to go see it on Friday but wasn't feeling great so gave it a miss. The best thing my mum and sister, who have both read (and loved) the book could say for it afterwards was "The scenery was lovely".

Was a very enjoyable movie. A bit sentimental but the actess manage to ground it. The critics are totally off on this movie.
