Shower tanking question

After a leak in our en-suite shower due to a couple of different factors, the old tiles have been removed, a new base purchased damaged plasterboard replaced, I’m ready to tank the three sides, or am I?

I purchased a Mapie tanking kit, my question is, I’ve one block wall at the rear, sides are regular plasterboard, there is some unevenness of the surfaces, some old tile adhesive here and there, the plasterboard has some of the skim missing here & there so the surface is uneven, if I prime & apply the waterproofing membrane solution to this uneven surface, will that be good enough?

I assume the tiler can compensate for the slight difference?

Ideally I suppose the surface should be flat but will this be ok?

    thanks
