Payment Warrant from a US State

    Hi,

I am due to receive some funds from a deceased relative which is being held by an Unclaimed Funds section by the state of Ohio in the US. I'm based in Ireland.

I got a notice today to say that the funds can only be provided via a warrant. I don't know what a warrant is. Has any experience with a warrant from a US state? Is it a check or something else?

'Please note: the only form of payment available is a warrant drawn from Ohio State Treasury'
