Jeep/ van for on and off farm

Van here is in its last days and will have to be replaced. I wouldn't do massive mileage but would tend to carry loads from the coop which is part of the reason the current van is on its way out so has my leaning to a jeep or pickup. Anyone bought recently? Anything in the 10 to 12 k bracket tends to be a serious age so dunno where is the best value in them really, if that's a term that can be used these days.

Actually thinking of the opposite here. Jeep is just 17 years old and thinking of a van instead. Has to have a bench seat to be able to carry 3 across the front and then a bit of ground clearance.

Jeeps are getting very expensive to run in current climate, I'd have a van but too hilly here

Mileage wouldn't be massive here so mpg while a consideration isn't the top priority. Parts for 4x4 may be dearer alright but they put up with more of what might be thrown at it

And I am similar with mileage. I'd do 15,000kms per year. The pros of the current jeep are, crewcab so a second family car in effect, off road ability, towing ability.

The cons. Running costs and replacement costs. Hard to know what to do but if mine gets a cvrt this year Id say it could be her last.

I'd stick with a van, at least what you might have inside it is dry and relatively safe. Brother in law switched to a landrover from a van and hated it, couldn't put much inside and always had a to bring a trailer around the place.

Buy a Jimny for the farm, put a set of mud terrains on it and have the next best thing to a quad.

I’d say even the lads running the jeeps on green are getting caught out now. See green diesel at garages @ €1.75 per litre 😅😅

I’d say a lot of lads will be going back to drawing cattle boxes with the tractor again 😅
