Reading a lot about checked luggage going missing. Is it mostly people with connecting flights ? Is it particular Airlines ?

Has anyone recently lost luggage flying from DUB direct with AL ?

I can't give you any actual statistics or concrete facts but...for connecting flights there is additional complexity so bags are simply more likely to go missing. Even ignoring any other factors, your bags must be twice as likely to be lost on an itinerary with two flights as your bag has to be loaded on two aircraft instead of just one.

While missing luggage definitely seems to be a lot more common this year than before the pandemic, remember that you're not going to read about the vast majority of passengers whose luggage makes it without issue.

I would say it's pretty hard to lose luggage if there's no connecting flight. Unless maybe you were very late to check in and they hadn't time to get it on the plane.
