Connecting DVD player with no HDMI port to Smart TV without a scart

Hello,

I'm trying to connect a LG DVD player to my LG Smart TV. The DVD Player doesn't have a HDMI socket and the smart TV doesn't have a scart socket (only a HDMI socket). A (in photo below) is the lead I have for the DVD player (older TV that I played it on had a scart socket). B is the back of the DVD Player showing only RCA sockets. I had assumed that all I needed was an RCA to HDMI cable (C below) but a few sites online lead me to think I might need an RCA to HDMI video converter (D below). Has anyone any experience with this? The converter is more expensive and looks to need its own USB power source.

You would need A and then also a SCART to HDMI convertor, Power City, Argos, DID etc would have them, here's one for €34...

If it was me I'd spend an extra €10 and get a DVD Player with HDMI connection...

Or even better for long term, buy a Blu-Ray Player for €20-30 more that will play both DVD's and Blu-Ray's.

Yes the end result with the SCART to HDMI won't be great, much better to go all out and replace it, particularly the Blu-Ray route to take advantage of the TV.

I still like having the physical DVD or Blu-Ray for some series to revisit, no matter how many online services you have there's never one has all you need in one place.
