Recommend a good hands free earpiece

Well lads in the market for one of these do a good bit of driving, some trucks, tractors, diggers and most are old and don't have hands free and I know I am going to get penalty points one if the days, needs something that's fairly rebust any recommendations would be much appreciated.

I use aftershokz headphones around the farm. They are bone conductive so don't actually go in your ear, just in front of it, so you can hear everything around you. Perfect for listening to music, podcasts or taking a call.

TBH I found the bone conductive ones are pure shite when trying to have a conversation with someone on the phone whilst working in the tractor/digger etc as they conduct/amplify the background noise. OH and I have been using Plantronics Explorer 55 earpieces. I bought two of them (€35/head) from Halfords Swords in Jan 2020 before the first Covid lockdown and they are still working as good today. Yep and the sound is sharp and clear once your 3 or 4 g signal is good.

Use apple AirPods Pro, and absolutely love them, normally only have one in and it allows full noise transparency. Mainly podcasts and phone calls. Not the cheapest but great bit of kit I find.

I don't know what friends that have ear pieces are using but they're the pits and to make it worse then they've no consideration and carry on working .

If they're not making a racket themselves they're going in and out of coverage. Some just phone for a chat probably because they think I've nothing to do....... a chat is grand but on poor cheap earpieces its the pits.

Some very poor car handsfree out there as well

Have ear defenders here with radio plus Bluetooth they work away fine on calls, prob more suitable around the farm than driving down the road tho

I had to tell herself to stop calling me on speaker too, id spend more time asking her to repeat herself that actually having a constructive chat.

have Bluetooth on the tractor radio too but it’s very poor for the person I’m talking to so don’t use it

How good is the noise cancellation in the tractor though? Let’s say at decent revs spreading fertiliser for example could you hear the radio

I’ve used them on a cabless tractor drawing sand so loud and could listen to a podcast with one ear piece in and full noise transparently mode. The thing I like most about the AirPods is it filters in the noise from outside if you want to be very aware of your surroundings. And then I’ve used them with full noise cancelling for flying too, only downside is once out of the case they only give about 4 hours.

Problem I have with them is they are handy enough lost, between 3 sets of glasses, earpods, phone I will be looking for recommendations for a good man bag to hold them all in the one spot
