WTD: Mid to high-end Alu clinchers (no tubeless-ready rims need apply!).

After my woes with Mavic USTs I'm on the hunt for something more traditional that just takes a plain old tube...no over-engineered rims that make for tight tyre-play considered!

Don't mind going back a few years if there is decent life in the wheels. Don't need carbon, but let me not be hasty if there's a nice set of carbon/laminate rims out of favour somewhere!

Fancied something from DT Swiss but all their modern rims are tubeless-ready it seems.

Superstar Components make a mean rim, unfortunately being UK-based rules them out for a new purchase, plus they seem to have supply chain challenges and no stock right now. Shame, as I have a set of their Pavé 28 clinchers and they're light & fast. If anyone has a set I'd be interested.

No rims to sell but just wanted to say that I’ve a set of tubeless ready DT Swiss ARCs and can put GP5000s on without levers. So I wouldn’t fully rule out TR!

I have vision T42 wheels hanging up in a wheel bag the last 3 years going unused. I think I thought the bearings needed looking at, but I'm not 100% sure. They had been in excellent condition when put away.

Also have some chinese carbon rims I got here last year on Hope RS4 that have not had an awful lot of use since I got them (maybe 1000km at most in dry)

The freehubs of both of theses are made of various grades of cheese though and pick up bite marks a bit easily.

I currently have some mavic sls on a bike too that are in very good condition. They the 1400 g ones. Probably less likely to sell these

I'd second this - I've tried various DT Swiss P / C series and Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires go on easily.

There's a near new set of Fulcrum Racing Zero for sale on Adverts. I've had these before and changing tyres was easy.

Oh they're all surplus. I only really need 1 of them. The mavics look nicest on my genesis. The vision go whoosh whoosh and the the carbon just look a bit bling and the hubs match my cinelli
