2 Hard Wired from Router and Internet Dropped Supplier Virgin

Have Asus router and cat 6 cables going around the house for hard wire

So main tv connected to TV and Nvidia shield and connected direct into router. Have switch in attic and cat 6 cables run throughout the house and ethernet points around the house.

So in the main room kids streaming cartoons via shield so I went into spare and watch the football streaming on Virgin go app on second shield hard wired into ethernet point

However half way through first half internet dropped and gave error re bandwith?? Checked everything and all ok

However watched 2nd half and as kids had gone to bed only streaming on the one tv

Are Virgin throttling bandwidth? First time seen this but first time been streaming on both tvs at same time

im unaware of virgin throttling, but id be interested to know myself, my streaming has increased a lot

Might be just contention either with VM or the App/Website due to the match.

Use the app to watch TV channels on spare tv when other tv in use. Only have the one 360 box at main tv

This is not accurate. But if everyone on your street is hammering the network it will effect, your speeds.

If everyone logs on to see the same show at the same time on the same service or app, it might not be able to handle it.

They have done in the past. There was a long thread on here in 2016 around the time of the rebrand from UPC when they started throttling Netflix by routing it via the US.
