Just wondering - is it ok if a student wants to study a text on the prescribed list that isn't studied by the teacher in class - can they study it at home for the exam, or do they have to follow only what their teacher covered?

    Thanks.

Yes they can. They may as well keep their options open. Would this give them an extra choice in terms of questions, or are they not attending the classes on the other text?

Thanks, just after the Junior Cert paper today, my son was looking ahead and wondering if he could also study books on the list he likes, not just those the teacher picks.

He can answer on any book he wants in the exam (as long as it is on the list), but while in the class, I am sure the teacher would expect homework etc. to be done on the book they are reading in class.
