Water coming in car door

I've noticed there appears to be water coming in the rear drivers side door of my car. It only happens in particularly heavy rain, but I'm having trouble finding where it's getting in. It's only on the floor, and I'd notice it when I open the door, but the rest of the door is dry so it doesn't look to be coming in the top of the door and running down the sides. My car is a 2012 Renault Grand Scenic. I've attached a picture of where the water is - the carpet is wet and all. Has anyone any ideas what the issue might be?

There's a waterproof menbrane inside the door panel. Probably detached.

I'll check the holes in the bottom of the door - the bottom of the door is wet alright, but it's hard to tell if it's the source of wetness or if it's wet because it's touching the bit where the water is.

The waterproof membrane in the door panel could be a possibility alright, my toddler spends quite a bit of time messing with the integrated blinds that go in the door so it wouldn't surprise me if something in the door has been damaged. Is that something I can check myself or would it be a garage job?

If thats the problem, the door panel has to come off. Not that difficult, depending on your ability. Unlikely that the blind caused it, just that the bonding gets aged. Open the door & pour the garden hose on the window rubber, you should at least see water coming out the drain holes.

Then close the door with someone on the inside and run the hose around the entire door. Maybe the rubber door seal has perished.

If you've a sunroof check that the drains aren't blocked.
