Passport Card QUERY

Does anyone know if you need the actual physical hard copy of your passport book to apply for the passport card? I do not currently have access to my book as I have sent it away and will not have it in time I do not believe to travel which requires a passport. I have the passport number etc and details scanned on my drive…

nope, you just need the number off the passport book and i think the expiry / issue dates but the book doesnt need to be sent by post or verified over a video call or anything.
