Hi, just wondering if there’s anyone here who has got a recent hair transplant with Ailsbury hair clinic in Dublin?

Im not comfortable with heading over sea so looking at the Irish options.

Blackrock looks over priced so I’m ruling them out. The Beacon has poor enough reviews, Ailsbury seems to have mixed reviews?

Hi, did you ever go through with it then?

    Looking around now myself!

I can ask the same question to you both…:) I am looking to get it done. Mainly looking at turkey but there are so many companies that I'm going around in circles and making myself anxious. Fear of picking the wrong one

Do the research on sites like hair transplant network.com. There are many unscrupulous shysters who will happily take your money while ruining your life.

They have a list of recommended surgeons worldwide, based on results and value for money. No Irish surgery makes the list. Tells its own story.

There’s a growing tendency for some to treat the Hair Transplant Network as the ultimate authority on hair transplants, which can feel exclusionary. While hair transplants in Ireland are costly due to various societal reasons, this doesn’t negate the presence of excellent surgeons in the country. The Hair Transplant Network offers valuable guidance, yet not being featured on their list doesn’t equate to a lack of skill.

Re your research, be sure to ask who is performing the transplant and what parts. Ideally the extraction of the grafts from the donor area and the incisions (sites where the grafts will be placed), should be performed by a doctor. Also most clinics will recommend medication to stabilise your hair loss and slow down or prevent future hair loss if there is a history of hair loss in your family. In my opinion, if a clinic doesn't discuss or recommend this it would be a red flag.

    Societal reasons! Seriously.

Anyone who doesn’t do the research on sites like Hair Transplant Network is very foolish in my opinion.

Everyone’s circumstances are different and what might be a good choice for one person might be totally unsuitable for another.

    Research, research, research!

Medical care in Ireland tends to be expensive, while countries like India and Turkey are often more cost-effective.

You previously mentioned going abroad due to unscrupulous shysters and no Irish Clinics being featured on “the list.” This doesn’t seem to take everyone’s personal circumstances into account.

People usually do their homework regarding such matters, which is why they frequent boards.ie. Disparaging Ireland as you are doing isn’t beneficial. There are competent surgeons in Ireland, and people have the freedom to opt for local treatment. While some may be motivated by cost savings and rankings, these factors don’t resonate with everyone.

I made no particular reference to Ireland when I referred to unscrupulous shysters. They exist everywhere, hence my suggestion that prospective patients research the options thoroughly.

Having done so myself, my conclusion is that Irish surgeons are expensive and deal mostly with straightforward cases.

If money isn’t an option and your level of hair loss is relatively light, by all means save yourself the time needed to travel abroad.

I had over 4500 grafts done in Dublin. FUT, FUE and beard. There are surgeons here that can handle more than just FUE.

Absolutely agree. I had what was a fairly challenging procedure (having had a previous failed ht of 3800 grafts in 2010), involving fut, fue and beard with Andre Nel. His care and attention for the best possible outcome was second to none.
