Ball python

Hi i have a 3 year old ball python. Lately he has been going into his water bowl and staying there. Realised the hot side was a bit too hot so replaced the heat mat. But he is still going into the water. I googled and checked for mites but he doesnt have them. Im worried, any advise please?

Try www.reptileforums.co.uk or the group Not Just a Pet Rock (python regius) on facebook, there's a lot of royal python owners in both places
