Where is the list of forum mods kept?

To contact a mod, how do you locate who to contact?

Take cork city forum for example. There is a nasty thread in there about the recent tragic death of a woman. The sticky in the forum, which is where I would expect mods to be listed, has a closed account as the author. One level up, same thing... I assume the "flag" function does nothing, as I flagged a couple of posts months ago, no response there either.

Am I being blind and it's in front of my face? How do you figure out who the mod of each forum is?

I had searched for the words also and that wasn’t returned in search results.

Could the Forum stickies be updated too do you think?

You don’t need to know the mods, simply click on the button at the bottom of the comment and report it like everyone else does. The mods will see it and review it.

In fairness, Jim, the mods in several categories have admitted that this function no longer works as it used to and have asked users to PM them directly about problematic posts. Your post was pretty dismissive and a bit disingenuous to boot. I see no reason why users shouldn't have a right to know who their mods are, even if the report function was working properly.

If you see something particularly egregious then drop either me or @Spear a PM and we’ll try and help. Admin @Beasty is also very active and accessible in emergency cases. Yes, moderation is a challenge at the moment, but it’s something we’re all aware of and working on.

Is there any reason the stickies can't be updated? Are they locked / uneditable? It would be a user-friendly workaround for the mod challenges if it was possible.

Without the dig at Beasty, updating the stickies is a decent suggestion. I’ll talk to Spear about it separately and see what we can do.

For what it’s worth, Beasty is doing an unholy amount of behind the scenes work on a daily basis. Just because you don’t see public posts doesn’t mean he isn’t working his arse off keeping things in some sort of shape.

FYI I actually responded to the reports you and others had made. I had not seen this thread but when I see a number of reports for a particular post I will have a look, knowing a lot of our mods are not particularly active
