Postal service collection from home

Hi,

Is there a postal service that can collect a small parcel (1.5 kg) from our home and deliver it to an address in England?

A courier will but it'll cost you. An Post will be much cheaper but you'll need to go to the post office.

I used to use parceldirect.ie, they would collect e.g. if you selected GLS.

I haven’t used them since Brexit though.

Edit: The last time I used them they messed up a delivery (they sent it back to me without any explanation and I had to chase for a refund.)

GLS service says "Unavailable" at the moment.

I recently used UPS to send a parcel to London. I normally use anpost but the option for drop-off wasn't available on ebay for some reason.

OP have you asked your postman?

Ours will take mail for delivery to save putting it in a post box but that might only be because we are rural?

You can pay in advance for the postage online and either give it to your postman if he'll take it or drop it off. For example out local Lidl has An Post drop off point.

We rarely see or know our postman.

It will be registered/tracked post so I doubt postman will be carrying those barcode stickers.

Few people realise this, but to send post anywhere, just push it through your letterbox from inside your house.

Try GLS. I've been using their Parcelshop services for years and I've always found them to be very good. They also have an online service, do take a look.
