Benefits and working child

Hello,

I am writing this post on behalf of my friend who has a very poor English. She is a single parent with 3 children living in Kerry. Her eldest child is 15 years of age and is thinking about taking up a seasonal job in local restaurant. My friend is currently getting one parent family payment, working part time as a cleaner and obtaining working family payment as well. She would like to know whether her daughter's seasonal work might have any impact on her benefits??? Any answers would be gladly welcomed. Thanking you in advance on her behalf.

From this official link, it appears that the child's income is NOT assessable for the means test for OPFP nor does it appear to be included in the means test for the WFP (furthermore, as the WFP is paid for a full year even if circumstances change during the year, the child taking on a summer job shouldn't affect the payment.) So from my reading of the documentation, the daughter's summer job should not affect the mother's benefits.
