Second root canal vs extraction

    Hi there,

I got a root canal on a back molar a couple of months ago and it's gotten infected. My dentist has recommended referring me to an endodontist to have a second go at saving the tooth, but it could be up to a month to get the first appointment with them (I'm in Mayo, endodontist is in Galway). I don't really want to be in discomfort for that long, or live with an untreated infection (I took antibiotics for 5 days, but it didn't kill the infection). Would I be as well getting it pulled rather than waiting with an infected tooth?

    Thank you.
