Bloom traffic in Dublin 15

Making some plans for the bank holiday and trying to figure out if it’s going to be very difficult to get out and about Dublin 15 in the car over this weekend with Bloom on. Mainly around Castleknock village. Does anyone remember from previous years whether it’s bedlam?

Castleknock Village is slow on a normal day. I'd probably avoid closing time. Other than it should be manageable.

main Navan road is usually ok on Bloom weekend. Castleknock to be avoided.

Cycled through the park around 10:30, seemed like they got the DAA to orgainse the traffic plan for the park. Deadlock along the main road from both directions - city end was worse. Traffic backed up past castleknock village so 37 and 38 bus both impacted quite badly.

The were tonnes coming off trains in Heuston and waiting for the shuttle bus at Parkgate Str. Chaos!

Navan Road was like a car park this evening. Took 90 mins to get home from town on the bus.

I was there around 8.30 and the Gardai basically caused a traffic jam directing traffic.

Gave far too much priority sending cars from Acres Road in particular into the Bloom Car park and caused a backlog right back up Chesterfield Avenue.

Can only imagine it got worse as the morning went on.
