What do you need to replace it for? It's more common to fix them

You can replace with forscan but you need the extended licence and at least 2 keys.

I was going to replace it as I have a spare dash , are no places near me that do it and the time that the car would be off the road waiting for they to do it.

Do you just cancel the keys then reprogram them and the dash is coded ?

What you need to do roughly is install new IC, get your forscan with extended license (can't do it without this)

Program 2 keys to the cluster using the pats function (can't do one key) erase keys > add key etc

Pair the cluster with the pcm using pat's module initialisation

You may need to adjust the config if the cluster if it not setup exactly like the old one then.

Where are you based and what problem are you having?

    Carnew South Wicklow

Keeps going into limp mode and code for ic comes up.

You can get it out by tapping the dash.

I do have the extended license.

Give it a go if you feel up to it, but if something goes wrong the car won't start even with the old one back in so be prepared for that risk

This might be a good place to ask -

Ford C Max 2009 lost boot opening and central locking and lights on buzzer gone as well.

This happened previously in the life of the car and now after a flat battery.

    Is this a common issue?

Could be a gem module fault

If you value reliability it might be worth programming in the new one and sending the old one off for repair as they all have the same problem and the new one may have or will be soon to have the same solder joint issues
