I hope I won't have many more threads here.

I recently completely my 12 lessons. My instructor seems happy enough with me.

He said apply for a test and we'd organise some pre tests, etc.

I'm a bit confused about the process. I paid the money and I think I'm on a waiting list now. In a few weeks will I receive a emailing inviting me to select a date?

Are you given an option of many dates?

Do all my lessons need to be logged before I get called?

Also, does anybody have any links to theory questions they ask?

I've come along way, just a few issues here and there and I should get in the end.

Log into the RSA portal on myroadsafey.rsa.ie and you will be able to see your status.

My last lesson isn't logged yet.

I take it I won't be called until this is up?

I have my car licence from a time long before the EDT requirement so, I’m not an expert on the in’s and out’s of it all. However, I’m reasonably familiar with the process because my daughter passed her B test a few months ago and I’m currently doing a D licence myself.

My understanding is that the EDT lessons and the process for booking your test are not directly linked. As in, you can book your test before your lessons are complete. You just have to make sure that you have completed all 12 lessons (and that they are logged) by the time you actually sit the test. Thus, if you have actually applied for the test, then you could get the email, inviting you to select a test date, at anytime.

What I recall from my daughter’s experience was, that she was able to log into the RSA portal and that gave her an estimate of when she could expect to receive the invitation to book email. I think she actually got the email a week or so earlier than that estimate. When she did get the email, the first option was for the following morning at 9am! We decided that wouldn’t be a good option and went for one about a week out. I think she had about four or so test dates to choose from, but I could be wrong about that.

EDIT: Just to add to that, you must have had your (1st) learner permit for at least 6 months.

Test eligibility = permit 6 months + 12 EDT lessons.

    Thanks.

I think I just have to wait to be called. It was something my instructor said that sort of confused me a little.
