Second Will

My mother has a Will that she did through a solictor in Galway years ago. She wants to update it but now lives in Dublin. Is there anything stopping her going to a new solicitor in Dublin and doing up a new Will? Will this new one supersede the previous one in Galway?

Any later will supersedes a previous will rendering the first one null and void. Alternatively she could add a codicil .

A later will only supersedes the previous one if it says so. Normaslly the first clause in the will is the revocation clause but mistakes happen.

She does need to ensure that executors are aware of the new will, perhaps even to the extent of notifying the Galway solicitors to dispose of the old will if they are keeping it for her, just to avoid any confusion.
