    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experienced with spray foaming the attic (using icynene). I live in a dormer bungalow and it's quite cold in winter upstairs and I'm thinking of getting the attic insulated. I've heard mixed messages about spray foaming and was wondering if anyone could share some information about it.

    Regards,

    Coburger

I'm getting my attic converted soon. I asked the builder & he was dead against it.

He doesn't believe what the installers say about its safety, at the end of the day its full of chemicals & its sprayed everywhere.

He also said there is nowhere for moisture to go as the foam fills the space & there is no ventilation. Moisture will cling to & rot the roof.

If your house is cold you want to insulate the floor of the attic not the roof.
