Do you need the HCAP to hunt on a Coillte lease, or will the DSC1 suffice? I'm coming across a lot of conflicting information. A link to something authoritative would be really helpful.

I know this has been covered before, but I'm not sure if anything has changed.

Coilte will accept either certification, should you be in such an unfortunate position to have to hunt on their lands.

    From their tender applications 2021.

All persons wishing to hunt deer on Coillte lands must satisfy Coillte’s training/qualification requirements as follows:- • Currently the minimum qualification required by all Licensees and holders of Annual Stalking Permits (unrestricted) is the Hunter Competence Assessment Programme (HCAP) - refer www.deeralliance.ie.

     • Or the Country Sports Deer Stalking Training Course (completed since March 2018 to include assessment of related Irish legislation) www.countrysportsireland.org qualifications.
